Dinner Conversations.....

The Princess and I were feeling particulary pretty. We sweet talked our way into dinner out. Braving the weather to show off a bit, we acquired the boys and made our way to a local sports bar.

We love this place. Good food, fun games (including air hockey, basketball, darts, pinball) and of course godo company.

While waiting for our meal, and the kids buring up all the quaters we had, I not only enjoy my husbands company, but eavesdropping on the other guests.

Tonight I leared about the joys of "corn chucking". Not shucking, I can do that and even remove every single filament of silk (thanks Dad, some habits die hard)but CHUCKING. I must say it almost sounds like fun, especially with a few friends and a case of beer. I must add the young gentleman telling this story admitted to being raised in the boonies. He also admitted to following his chucked corn and avoiding some detailed explaination about his acquired injuries.

I am going to stop there for now. My question my dear readers is what juvenile sport did you particpate in out of boredom? I can't wait for these answers.

I have to chuckle....

So our office is Zigs network of computers in a small extension of the house. It quickly became apparently after my arrival in the house and as my computer efficiany increased that one computer was not enough.

The current arrangement is great. Our computers are 3 feet from each other, even when in the same chat rooms (IRC still kicks ass) we can look at and talk to each other. I dont think I could tolerate us being in separate rooms for multiple reasons. But sometimes it is a problem and I am thinking of getting earphones. Hours and hours of talk radio sometimes grate my nerves raw and I have to leave the office, or turn his speakers down because he so kindly left them on for me........

Tonight I caught wind of a concert on Myspace. I asked if I could catch the stream, he was kind enough to agree. I was a bit late but checked out My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday and Linkin Park. It was cool to review bands before blowing 18 bucks on a CD. I liked a few songs from TBS and MCR but I must say Linkin Park ROCKS! I'd go seem them live in a heartbeat.

Zig was very gracious in allowing me to rock the house, as he usually dictates what is audible in our office whether music, movies or radio. His tolerance and love for me is evident in the comment, "you can listen to hours of such angry music?". LOL. Its ok, he doesn't really like chocolate either. By the way while honoring my request to monopolize the frequencies in the office, he avoided the mayhem and went for a walk. He brought me back one of my favorite chocolates, Lindt Lindor chocolates. WHAT A MAN! I run him out of the house and he brings me treats!

So with little ceremony we moved from Linkin Park to Irelandlive, traditional and folk. Talk about contradiction. Actually the traditional melodies were a welcome change. Dont get me wrong here, I like tradtional Irish music as much as Zig does, I just appreciate a wider range of what musical creativity. I think maybe he needed to mend his soul with songs from the home land. LOL.

It makes me wonder how other people cope with differences in ideas, opinion and taste.

I feel very blessed.

Summer Fun 2

I must say, despite the unanticipated razor effect spun sugar had on my teeth we had a good time.

After my cotton candy disappointment I was looking forward to Gyros. Second favorite carnie food. And I want it loaded, cucumber sauce, all the veggies and peppery seasoned lamb meat. Unfortunately not a Gyro in site. I almost went for the fresh pretzels but didnt want to splurge my calorie allowance. Nothing else looked worthy. *sigh* Atleast nothing purchasable. LOL.

We did the divide and conquer approach for rides. A Shortman likes the fast, spinning wild rides. The Princess is really getting to big for the kiddie rides. She literally said, "I dont like going up that high, I like my feet close to the ground and not spinning."

So Mr Zig splurged on a set of tickets for each child. He went with the Shortman for the wild rides. I stayed with The Princess while we scoped out suitable ones for her. Occasionally we would intersect. The best part of watching my men wander through the carnival rides was watching Zig's ass. :)

As we walk down the fairway nixing or ooing over the various fun, she decides to get on a ride. I tried to warn her. I couldnt see exactly what it did. She actually walked around the ride to figure it out, nodded, handed over her tickets and got on.
First time up and around I faintly hear, "I dont like this." I look for her and she is making scowling faces. I step up and tell the carni guy to let her off but he was already shutting the ride down. No tears though, she shook it off well. But Mr Zig, Shortman and I got a good chuckle out of it.

We walked through the pig stys. Mr Zig had great fun naming the pigs, much to The Princess's dismay. Mr Zig points, "See that big one there, his name is Bacon. And that one there is Sauage. There is Loin." I had to stop him before she never at pork again. Then we walked through the Llamas. (read more about Zig and Llamas here) Again he starts with the carnivorous Llama jokes. The small tuft of hair on the ground feeding his imagination. Apparently Llamas eat fingers and rabbits.

But I saved the best for last. On our way into the fair grounds Mr Zig pulls up to the gate. The farm girl cute young blonde initiall charges him for 3 adults and 1 child, then she re-assesses. She askes how old the kids are, and Mr Zig very straight face says "he is 9 and 1/2, he has a thyroid problem." The poor girl got misty eyed but before she can cooo "ooooooh" very pitifully, The Princess rips my husbands con to shreds as she bounces forward, "he is not, he is thirten". The blonde was dismayed, then laughed awkwardly. Poor Mr Zig was so close, so very close to completing his ruse.

And that my friends is what its like to go to the fair with Zigzagman and family.

Summer Fun

We went to the County Fair today. We being Mr Zig, Mrs Zig, and ziglettes Shortman, age 13; The Princess nearly 11.

I, being the wonderfully open minded person I am greatly enjoyed people watching, particually the curves. Wowza. There was enough eyecandy to give a person a cavity in the brain.Unfortunately the stud veiws were few and far between. What is it about a fair that brings out the creepy elements in every community?

Speaking of candy, before said event, I went to the dentist. Just a cleaning and a scolding for not flossing enough so I didnt think anything of it. Until Mr Zig treated me to all time favorite carnie delight, COTTON CANDY.

To put in perspective my cotton candy enthusiams let me tell you a few things. One, I start drooling for my favorite treat in ooooooo say about mid march, summer still a long ways away. Two, I always get 2 MONSTER bags, ya know the ones the size of a small child but oh so much sweeter. The first bag is to eat on site, the second to take home for tomorrow....maybe... if it last that long. Three, I am very reluctant to share, even when my stomach is whimpering from sugar assault. I think you get the picture now.

All day today we knew we going to the fair. Mr Zig even commented to anxious Shortman, "If we dont go the fair, we will go to the beach, but if it gets rained out it gets rained out. Besides its an opportunity for Mrs Zig to get cotton candy so you know we cant miss that." They found it very funny.

I wait patiently. Ok I lied, first chance I got I was holding my hand out for cash like a snot nosed ride monger. I of course ordered a Monster bag. A huge bag of spun sugar in multi colored layers. SWEEEETT! I wanted to skip but contained myself. I open the bag, reach carefully in with dry fingers and pull the first blue cloud. Deliberately I bring it to my lips like a horney teen getting a first kiss. The initial delicious strands melt on my tongues moisture. I smile. Then I wince. OUCH! It seems my teeth cleaning has left me sensitive to intense sugar. I suffer through the first flavor. A delicious contradiction in culinary delight and stinging cleanliness.

Its a first. I bought back 1/2 a bag and I shared. And it was only half because The Princess ate the next two layers before I stopped her.

Summer Fun 2 coming soon.

Job Satisfaction

I love my new job. I walk around all day and help people. Thats it. I just help people.

I help my staff do their jobs better by aquiring supplies, managing staffing and pitching in where ever I can. I help the visitors and patients by answering questions, filling in when staff is busy, and in general just trying to make going to the hospital a less annoying experience. Lets be honest, few people WANT to go to the hospital, its my job to make it better.

I have been lazy. Its humid and hot here, I dont feel like doing much. I have managed to walk an hour most days despite the heat though. Enough whining... on to TMI.

TMI Tuesday #95

Reminder... check out Mute Monday! ;)

1. What is the worst/corniest pick up line someone has used on you and/or you used?

I think it was something about my bedroom eyes. Poor guy never had a chance after looking into these big dynamic blues, hee hee hee. I married him.

2. Have you ever gone out on a date with someone and went home with someone else? Explain.

I really cant recall. If I did I apologize, unless he did it first.

3. What is the worst thing (spread a rumor, hook up with their SO, etc...) that you did to a friend? Did they do anything to deserve it?

Probably repeated something told in confidence. I'd like to think I have outgrown that.

4. What is your favorite sex scene in a regular movie (not porn)? Why?

IF it has a sex scene I'm probably good with it. Wait, I really do like that scene from Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze and whats her name up against the wall.... oh ya...

9 1/2 weeks, the fridge. enough said.

Rush, when Jason Patric turns Jennifer Jason Leigh over on the bed, its frightening but exciting, my first hint that sex can fun and more than all lace and frills.

oh and Secratary with Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader. The whole damn thing, not just for the SMBD hype but the interaction between the characters.

I am sure there are many many others.

5. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? What would you change on your SO?

Me- I'd like my "girls" up where they used to be, but I am too chicken to do it.

Zig- I wouldnt change a thing.

Bonus (as in optional): What countries, other than your own, have you had sex in? Was it someone on the trip with you? Someone from that country

I have only been to Canada, breifly when I was 13, with my family. No sex there. Although there were a few cute boys my Dad deterred with just "that look".

I have had sex out of state with Zig.
